Yes, you can still pay with an international credit/debit card or you can transfer the balance from your international account. Please bear in mind that there will be a bank handling fee if you transfer from an international bank account and there is also a 3% surcharge on all international card payments.
The credit card companies charge us for taking your payment. Most companies just increase the cost of their products to cover the cost; however, we don’t want to increase the rent for everyone. Instead we charge a surcharge of 3% as applicable- we think this is fair. This applies to all international credit/debit cards as well as UK credit cards.
If you are a UK full time student, you may be exempted from the payment of Council Tax. All you need to do is to provide us with a letter from your university (Council Tax Exemption Certificate). If you are not a student Council Tax is included in your charges. Please refer to you contract or contact our team for more information.
Smart Living will become your landlord. However, Victorstone will be managing your property and handling all your paperwork. All points of contact will be between you and Victorstone. You will be assigned a Letting Manager at the start of your tenancy.

You will be required to pay a deposit of 6 weeks rent if you are full-time employed and 8 weeks deposit if you are a student or unemployed. Your deposit will be protected by My deposit, which is a government-authorised tenancy deposit protection scheme.
Please contact our maintenance team to assist you, however there will be a charge for any visit. If you lost your key, you will be responsible for the cost to copy the keys and/or change the lock when needed.
